Over 6.24 Million Vehicles Registered Nationwide, Motorcycles Exceed 5 Million

According to the Economic Survey 2025/26, more than 6.24 million vehicles have been registered across the country, with over 5 million of them being motorcycles. By the end of the current fiscal year’s Falgun month, an additional 281,921 vehicles were registered. Additionally, 43,750 smart licenses have been issued.

To date, only 88,340 embossed number plates have been installed nationwide. A report from Kathmandu dated 13 Jestha states that, up to the end of Falgun in the current fiscal year 2082/83, a total of 281,921 vehicles including buses, minibuses, trucks, microbuses, cars, and motorcycles have been registered.

The survey also shows that a total of 4,114,181 licenses have been issued so far. By the end of Falgun, 87,014 embossed number plates were produced, of which only 5,186 have been installed.
