Nepal’s Men’s and Women’s Cricket Teams Both Set to Face China in Asian Games Qualifiers

On Sunday, Nepal’s women’s cricket team will compete against China for third place in the Asian Games qualifiers held in Malaysia. Meanwhile, Nepal’s men’s cricket team is scheduled to play against China in their opening match of the qualifiers, taking place in Singapore.

The women’s team, currently participating in the qualifiers in Malaysia, earned the opportunity to contest the third-place match after a semifinal loss to Malaysia. A victory over China will secure them third place and qualification for the Asian Games. Thailand, having defeated China, and Malaysia, who beat Nepal, have advanced to the finals and secured their spots in the Games.

Similarly, the men’s cricket team will face China in their first match of the qualifiers in Singapore. Nepal is placed in Group A alongside China and Malaysia, while Group B consists of Oman, Hong Kong, Bahrain, and Singapore. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals and earn qualification for the Asian Games.

Both matches are set to begin on Sunday morning at approximately 7:15 AM Kathmandu time.
