
Man Arrested for Cruelty Towards Ox in Pyuthan
Jaliram Thapa Magar, 36, from Pyuthan, has been arrested for allegedly mistreating an ox that was exhausted from plowing. The incident occurred on May 21 in Kathmandu and the District Police Office of Pyuthan took him into custody.
According to police, a case was filed against him under Section 290 of Chapter 27 of the Muluki Criminal Code 2074, which prohibits cruelty to animals. Currently, the District Administration Office of Pyuthan has extended his custody by five days to conduct further investigation.
Jaliram reportedly abused the ox on his own farmland by forcefully pressing the animal’s nose into the soil after it was unable to continue walking while plowing.
