Thapa Elected Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party Khotang

May 7, Khotang – Mukund Krishna Thapa has been elected chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa) in Khotang district. Thapa secured the position during the party’s first district convention held on May 7 in Diktel.

Thapa received a total of 78 votes, while his closest rival, Ojon Babu Acharya, garnered 28 votes. Having first been elected chairman during the inaugural district assembly on January 27, 2025, Thapa has been entrusted once again with the responsibility of district leadership.

A native of Laphyang, Ward No. 5, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, Thapa is a civil engineer by profession.

Gobinda Bhujel and Tara Dahal were unanimously elected as vice chairman and treasurer respectively. In the secretary race, Parshuram Thapa (Ashish) emerged victorious with 71 votes, defeating Uddhav Prasad Acharya, who secured 28 votes. Rajan Adhikari was elected deputy secretary with 64 votes, beating candidates Durvasa Gelal and Bhakta Bahadur Giri, who received 28 and 9 votes respectively.

Members elected include Chandra Bahadur Pariyar, Prakash Adhikari, Krishna Bahadur KC, Thaneshwar Rizal, Navin Acharya, Keshar Bahadur Shrestha, and Meghraj Dangal. Additionally, Lab Bahadur Gurung was selected as election area co-coordinator, Tula Bahadur Khatri as election area secretary, and Bhiman Gurung as election area member.
