May 26, Kathmandu – Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has pledged to treat issues related to character assassination with utmost seriousness.
The statement came after the newly appointed Minister Gurung took office on Tuesday.
“Since the Jenajati movement, many allegations have been levied against me, which I can endure. However, if there is any attempt to insult or defame any citizen, the Ministry of Home Affairs will respond with great sensitivity and seriousness,” he said.
He emphasized that no Nepali woman should lose her life due to character assassination, stating, “I can withstand any accusation made against me, but if any Nepali daughter is forced into suicide due to character assassination, the Ministry of Home Affairs will take grave action.”
Meanwhile, acknowledging that some are happy while others are saddened by his reappointment as Home Minister, he added, “Many will be happy, and many will be upset about my return. Now, all files will be opened.”
