Student Dies After Falling from Fourth Floor of DAV School in Lalitpur
May 16, Kathmandu – A student has died after falling from the fourth floor of the DAV School located in Lalitpur. The deceased student has been identified as 18-year-old Aryan Singh, a resident of Chabahil, according to Gaurav Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the Lalitpur District Police Office. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon around 12:30 PM. Singh fell from the fourth floor and was immediately taken to Sumeru City Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead around 6:30 PM.
Initial police investigations suggest the death may have been a suicide. CCTV footage from the school reportedly shows Singh jumping from the building. Authorities also discovered a suicide note in his possession. However, forensic examination of the note has yet to be completed. A police investigator stated, “The suicide note has been found, but verification of the handwriting to confirm it was written by him is still pending.”
