Uncle and Nephew Die in Tractor Collision; Mother Seriously Injured

In Kanakai Municipality-5, Jhapa, a tractor collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of the driver and his 5-year-old niece. The driver’s 45-year-old mother was seriously injured and is currently receiving treatment at B&D Hospital in Birtamod, police reported. The tractor and its driver involved in the accident have been taken into custody as further investigations are underway. June 19, Biratnagar.

In Jhapa, two people riding a motorcycle died after being hit by a tractor, and one person was injured in the accident. On Friday afternoon, at Tulsiwari in Kanakai Municipality-5, a motorcycle with the registration number ME 4 PA 585 traveling from Surunga toward Jhapa Bazaar was struck by a tractor numbered ME 1 TA 7404, which was exiting a field onto the road.

As a result of the collision, the motorcycle driver, 20-year-old Samir Ali from Jhapa Rural Municipality-3, and his 5-year-old niece, Hajira Khatun, died. According to police, they were immediately taken to Kanakai Hospital in Surunga for treatment, but doctors declared them dead upon examination.

Also seriously injured in the accident was Samir’s 45-year-old sister, Nuresh Sadevi, who was riding on the back of the motorcycle. After receiving initial treatment at Kanakai Hospital, she was transferred to B&D Hospital in Birtamod for further care, the police stated.
