Iran Announces Closure of Hormuz Strait Amid Alleged Ceasefire Violations
June 6, Kathmandu – Following allegations of ceasefire violations with the United States, Iran has announced plans to close the Strait of Hormuz once again. Iran’s war monitoring agency, the Atam Al Ambia headquarters, has indicated preparations to re-close the Hormuz Strait to maritime traffic. According to the report, Al Ambia headquarters stated that this measure has become necessary due to violations of the ceasefire agreement with the United States.
Additionally, the agency accused Israel of conducting relentless attacks and brutal massacres in southern Lebanon. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has also declared the closure of all maritime routes passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC attributed this decision to violations of the ceasefire accord by both the United States and Israel.
However, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has dismissed reports of the Hormuz Strait closure as rumors. In an interview with Fox News, he confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz remains fully open and noted that there is no evidence to support claims of its closure by Iran.
