Ten Arrested in Koteshwor and Jadibuti Areas for Harassing Passengers

The traffic police have arrested ten individuals in the Koteshwor and Jadibuti areas for allegedly causing inconvenience and harassment to passengers traveling outside the Kathmandu Valley. The detainees, comprised of bus counter staff, drivers, and assistant drivers, are accused of forcibly pulling passengers and snatching their bags, according to traffic police officials. Traffic police spokesperson Nareshraj Suvedi stated that all those arrested have been handed over to the Kathmandu District Police Office for further investigation and legal action.

Kathmandu, 8 Ashar – Acting on complaints of causing unnecessary hardship and harassment to passengers leaving the Kathmandu Valley, the traffic police arrested ten people. A team deployed from the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office took control of bus counter employees, drivers, and assistant drivers in the Koteshwor and Jadibuti areas. Those apprehended include 40-year-old Surya Bahadur Devkota from Dhanusha, 32-year-old Prakash Shivakoti from Dolakha, 55-year-old Haribhajan Thapa from Bhaktapur, 38-year-old Dilliprasad Lamichhane from Dolakha, and 28-year-old Suresh Tamang from Sindhupalchok.

Additionally, individuals arrested include 27-year-old Tilak Kumar Thapa from Sindhuli, 26-year-old Khadak Bahadur Tamang from Dolakha, 36-year-old Dor Kumar Shrestha from Sindhuli, 45-year-old Nandalal Budhathoki from Okhaldhunga, and 36-year-old Rajesh Sapkota from Sindhupalchok. They face allegations of disorderly conduct, including forcibly pulling passengers and snatching bags. Traffic police spokesperson Nareshraj Suvedi confirmed that all detainees have been sent to the Kathmandu District Police for the necessary inquiries and further legal proceedings.
