Iranian MP Ebrahim Azizi: Strait of Hormuz Is Not America’s Private Casino

June 22, Kathmandu – Iranian Member of Parliament Ebrahim Azizi has asserted that the ultimate authority over the Strait of Hormuz rests with Iran. Speaking amid ongoing talks with the United States in Switzerland, Azizi, who also chairs the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, emphasized this stance firmly. In a statement posted on X, he said, “You (America) may threaten, but we will respond,” further adding, “The Strait of Hormuz is neither your private casino nor a modern pirate’s hub.”

Azizi also described the Strait of Hormuz as a symbol of Iranian sovereignty. “This is a representation of Iranian sovereignty, and the final decisions regarding it are in the hands of the Iranian people and their brave military,” he clarified.
