Despite Loss to Turkey in Final Match, USA Tops Group D at FIFA World Cup 2026
The United States, co-host of the FIFA World Cup 2026, emerged as the winner of Group D despite losing their final group stage match against Turkey. Sebastian Berhalter then leveled the score for the US in the 49th minute. Ultimately, the US could not prevent Turkey’s late goal, resulting in a defeat. Despite Turkey’s win over the United States in this final match, Turkey was eliminated from the tournament, having previously lost to Paraguay and Australia.
