Nepal Secures Three Medals at the 16th South Asian Bodybuilding Championship
Nepal has won a total of three medals—one gold, one silver, and one bronze—at the 16th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship. The event is currently underway in Thimphu, Bhutan. Dinesh Kumar Rajbhandari, Secretary of the Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, provided this update.
In the men’s sports physique under 170 centimeters category, Akash Shrestha claimed the gold medal. Sita Khatri earned the silver medal in the women’s athletic physique division, while Pukar Shakya took home the bronze in the men’s sports physique over 170 centimeters category. All three athletes are making their international debut at this competition.
With these results, Nepal’s overall medal tally in the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship now stands at 13 gold, 17 silver, and 20 bronze medals. Nepal has been a consistent participant since the inaugural edition, having hosted the championship in three previous editions.
