How Are Gulf Countries Advising Their Citizens Amid Rising Tensions Between the US and Iran?

Reports indicate that Iran has commenced retaliatory actions targeting US military outposts in Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain in response to American attacks. In light of this situation, these countries have issued instructions for their citizens to remain calm and stay safe.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior released a message on the social media platform X, stating, “Siren alerts have been activated for security reasons. We urge the general public to stay calm and seek shelter in nearby safe locations.” The announcement also emphasized that citizens should rely solely on information from official sources.

Kuwait’s military confirmed that its air defense system is currently active. A post on X noted, “Kuwait’s air defense system has so far successfully intercepted hostile missile and drone attacks.” Security officials have urged civilians to adhere to their safety guidelines. A military officer, responding to the sound of explosions, said, “These are part of the air defense system’s efforts to thwart enemy attacks, so there is no cause for alarm.” He further requested that people avoid approaching any debris from the operations, refrain from photographing or filming, and not share any such content on social media platforms.
