March 23, Kathmandu – Nepal Police Club has set a new highest team total in the Prime Minister’s Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament.
In the match held Tuesday at the Upper Mulpani ground, Police scored 355 runs for 9 wickets in the 50-over format against the APF Club. This is the highest total ever recorded in the Prime Minister’s Cup.
The previous highest total belonged to APF, who posted 339 runs against Madhesh Province in 2018. The Police team has broken this eight-year-old record.
Four Police batsmen achieved half-centuries on Tuesday against APF. Opener Dinesh Kharel, Shankar Rana, captain Arif Sheikh, and Dilsad Ali all reached fifty-run milestones.
Shankar Rana was the highest scorer with 61 runs, followed closely by Dinesh Kharel with 60, captain Arif Sheikh with 50, and Dilsad Ali who remained unbeaten on 51.
In the tournament so far, Police defeated the Army in their opening game, while APF secured a win against Bagmati Province.
