Rajendra Lingden Proposes Reducing Petroleum Taxes to Curb Price Hikes
March 5, Kathmandu — Rajendra Lingden, chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has suggested that the government reduce taxes on petroleum products to help control rising prices. On Sunday, he shared his proposal on social media, emphasizing that it is a recommendation rather than a protest. “This is not a protest but a suggestion — the government should lower the taxes imposed on petroleum products to provide some relief to the public,” he stated. “It is essential for the government to focus on curbing irregular price increases in sectors like air travel fares and others, which have surged under the pretext of rising petroleum product costs.”
