Stock Market Declines on Last Trading Day of the Year

The stock market dropped by 4.18 points to close at 2,833 on the final trading day of 2082 BS. Today, the prices of 105 companies increased, 153 decreased, and 12 remained unchanged. Among the six companies whose prices surged by 10 percent are Super Khudi Hydropower and Suryakund Hydro Electric. (March 30, Kathmandu)

Trading volume in the stock market also decreased slightly. While the previous day recorded transactions worth NPR 899 crore, today’s trading amounted to NPR 866 crore. The Hotel and Tourism sector led gains with a 1.02 percent increase. Similarly, Hydro Power rose by 0.66 percent, Investment by 0.13 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.40 percent, and Non-Life Insurance by 0.46 percent.

Conversely, Banking fell by 0.47 percent, Development Banks by 0.55 percent, Finance by 0.29 percent, Life Insurance by 0.46 percent, Microfinance by 0.42 percent, Others by 1.62 percent, and Trading by 0.21 percent. Six companies experienced a 10 percent price increase: Super Khudi Hydropower, Suryakund Hydro Electric, Hotel Forest Inn, Palpa Cement, Rizline Energy, and Shikhar Power.

The prices of Menchhyam Hydropower rose 9.01 percent, Upakar Laghubitta 7.17 percent, and National Hydropower 6.67 percent. In contrast, Unique Nepal Laghubitta dropped by 3.60 percent, Abhiyan Laghubitta by 2.97 percent, and Sanvi Energy by 2.96 percent. Among the most actively traded companies today were National Hydropower, Ready Power, Reliance Spinning Mills, Ankhu Khola Hydroelectric Company, and SY Panel.
