US President Trump Claims Positive Progress in Talks with Iran
June 18, Kathmandu – US President Donald Trump has described the progress in talks with Iran as “positive.” He also claimed that recent meetings held in Qatar have been productive. Speaking to journalists ahead of his departure to North Dakota, President Trump indicated that efforts to limit Iran’s nuclear program are moving in the right direction.
In response to a question, Trump acknowledged that very useful meetings have taken place between the two sides but remained cautious about the future, stating, “We still have to see what happens.” He emphasized that while the US is maintaining pressure on Iran, the negotiation process continues. On the other hand, Iran has consistently claimed that its nuclear program is entirely for peaceful purposes. Indirect technical talks between the US and Iran are currently underway in Doha, Qatar, with Qatar and Pakistan serving as mediators.
