Clubs Demand Resumption of National and Women’s Leagues Amid FIFA Suspension

Twenty-one clubs participating in the Martyrs’ Memorial League have called on the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to end external interference and to immediately lift FIFA’s suspension. In a joint statement, the clubs highlighted that thousands of players, coaches, and referees have been adversely affected by the suspension. They urged the government to pressure ANFA to initiate the election process and to promptly restart the halted national and women’s league competitions.

Kathmandu, 24 July – Twenty-one clubs under the Martyrs’ Memorial League issued a joint press release on Friday, stating that the ongoing FIFA suspension has severely impacted thousands of Nepalese football players, coaches, referees, and others reliant on football for their livelihoods. Despite a lengthy suspension period, the clubs reported no concrete actions taken by the concerned authorities to lift the ban. They appealed for the immediate completion of ANFA’s elections and demanded the swift recommencement of the National League, Women’s League, and U-18 League football tournaments.
