Pakistan Endorses Gaza Ceasefire Agreement Facilitated by US Peace Plan

16 Shrawan, Kathmandu — Following a peace plan initiated by US President Donald Trump, Hamas has agreed to disarm under certain conditions. Pakistan has welcomed this development. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his support for the move on the social media platform X, stating, “Pakistan welcomes the progress made by the Board of Peace toward implementing the disarmament process under the Gaza Peace Plan.”

Prime Minister Sharif commended the mediators including the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their efforts in achieving this progress. He remarked, “Under President Trump’s courageous leadership, this represents a significant accomplishment for the Board of Peace.” Shehbaz Sharif further expressed hope that these efforts would proceed within the stipulated time frame in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.

He added, “Through this process, an independent and sovereign Palestinian state should be established based on the borders prior to 1967, with its capital being Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem).” In addition, US President Donald Trump announced that his ‘Board of Peace’ has reached an agreement with Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. According to the agreement, they are prepared to disarm. A senior Hamas official confirmed that the organization has agreed to the Board of Peace’s proposal for complete disarmament in Gaza.
