In an interview with his former aide Michael Cohen, Trump shared his views on the subject. He stated, “America is far ahead of China in artificial intelligence.” Trump also revealed that data centers are not drawing electricity from the national grid but are instead building their own power plants. “They are constructing beautiful power plants, unlike anything you have ever seen before,” he added.

According to Trump, the data centers generate significant employment opportunities, making the opposition by certain communities misguided. “Communities refusing to accept data centers are heading in the wrong direction,” Trump emphasized. His remarks come amid protests against data centers in various locations. While some data centers are developing their own power plants, others plan to source electricity from the national grid. Leaders from both the Democratic and Republican parties have criticized aspects related to data centers.
