India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns Amid Cockroach Janata Party Protests; CJP Responds

India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has tendered his resignation amid ongoing protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).
The CJP has been demanding his resignation for over a month in response to a question paper leak controversy.
Following Pradhan’s announcement of his resignation via social media, the CJP welcomed the development.
However, the party’s founder stressed that their struggle is not over yet.
While the resignation of the Education Minister was a major demand, the CJP’s broader protests call for a fundamental restructuring of India’s education system. This includes demanding high-level accountability regarding the examination paper leaks.
In a post on social media platform X, Pradhan said, “Let not any anti-national forces take advantage of the situation created in Jantar Mantar and the country. The unity of the nation must be maintained, and no student in India should suffer legal troubles affecting their future.”
He added, “Our children have devoted their time to studies and should be able to focus on their careers. Keeping this in mind, I have sent my resignation letter to the Honorable Prime Minister.”
‘Victory of the Cockroaches’ – CJP

The CJP hailed the education minister’s resignation as a major victory for their movement.
Removing the Education Minister was the key demand of the party.
CJP leaders had repeatedly asserted that they would not compromise on this demand.
“The cockroaches have won. Democracy has prevailed!” the CJP posted on social media platform X.
CJP founder Abhijit Deepke stated, “We have proven that Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned.”
“His resignation proves that if you are not afraid and do not bow before this government, you can make anyone resign. There is no need to fear in a democracy.”
What More Did the Education Minister Say?
“For over 40 years, I have been dedicated as a student, teacher, and education reformer. I have always believed that a strong, inclusive, and visionary education system is the cornerstone of a strong nation,” Pradhan remarked.
“I highly respect the hopes, sentiments, and reasonable expectations of our country’s youth. Fulfilling the dreams of India’s new generation is our collective moral responsibility in political and social life. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the nation under the visionary leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister.”

Addressing the NEET question paper leak, Pradhan said, “From day one, I took responsibility for this issue and I will never back down. I firmly stand that we will not allow the exam mafia to destroy the prospects of any meritorious student, nor will any student face injustice.”
“However, it pains me deeply to see some responsible officials creating obstacles and trying to mislead students at this time.”
Opposition Parties Also Back the Resignation Demand

All opposition parties, including the Congress, had supported the demand for his resignation.
More than 100 prominent Indian authors, artists, and intellectuals issued a joint statement supporting the students and demanding transparency, accountability, and wide-ranging reforms.
The statement highlighted that continuous irregularities, including question paper leaks and flaws in exam processes, have questioned the credibility of public institutions.
After weeks of protests, thousands of young people attempted to march toward India’s Parliament last Monday. Police responded with tear gas and baton charges to disperse the protesters. Since then, thousands remain active in street demonstrations.
The Cockroach Janata Party was formed following repeated leaks of important competitive examination question papers.
The movement has seen massive participation, particularly by youth, becoming one of the largest student protests in India in recent years.
