Indian Cricket Team Assistant Coach Ryan Ten Doeschate Resigns

Ryan Ten Doeschate, the assistant coach of the Indian national cricket team, has resigned from his position. After the series against England concluded, he informed the BCCI of his decision. He will now rejoin the coaching staff of the Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders. 12 Shrawan, Kathmandu.

During the tour of England, Ten Doeschate notified the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about his decision. India lost both the T20 and One Day International series during that visit. The former Netherlands captain joined the Indian team in 2024, succeeding Rahul Dravid and becoming the head coach under Gautam Gambhir.

Selected by Gambhir himself, Ten Doeschate served as an assistant coach focusing on both batting and fielding departments. He will now become part of the coaching group of the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he will once again collaborate with Abhishek Nayar.

Ten Doeschate has a longstanding relationship with KKR. As a player, he won two IPL titles with KKR in 2012 and 2014. He returned to the team as a fielding coach in 2022 and remained part of the coaching staff until 2024. During his tenure with the Indian national team, India won the 2025 Asia Cup and successfully defended the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title in 2026.
