Nepali Woman Cricketer Manisha Upadhyay Honored with ‘Late Rama Devi Memorial Cricket Cup’

October 13, Kathmandu – Manisha Upadhyay, a player of the Nepali national women’s cricket team, was honored with cricket equipment worth NPR 60,000 by the ‘Late Rama Devi Memorial Cricket Cup’. The organizers stated that the cricket kit was presented in recognition of Manisha’s contributions to Nepali women’s cricket, her continuous practice, and outstanding performance. Competition director Raj K.C. handed over the cricket materials to Manisha, emphasizing that recognizing and encouraging top players plays a significant role in the development of Nepali cricket.

On this occasion, international cricket umpire and technical director of the tournament Ravindra Gupta expressed that honoring players’ dedication and struggle serves as inspiration for future generations. He added that local-level competitions provide opportunities to new talents and help strengthen Nepali cricket further. Manisha expressed that the recognition has given her additional motivation and inspiration, describing receiving cricket equipment worth NPR 60,000 as a significant milestone in her sporting career. She also pledged to deliver even more impactful performances for Nepali women’s cricket in the future. The ‘Late Rama Devi Memorial Cricket Cup’ is scheduled to be held in Arghakhanchi on October 13. The organizers highlighted that the competition aims to promote local cricket and provide competitive opportunities for talented players.
