Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland has broken a 53-year-old record by scoring 50 international goals in just 46 matches. Haaland played a key role in helping Manchester City win their first-ever UEFA Champions League title in the 2022/23 season. Norway, having won all 8 World Cup qualifying matches and scored 37 goals, is preparing to participate in the World Cup after 28 years.

At just 5 years old, Haaland set a record in the standing long jump with a distance of 1.63 metres in 2006, which remains a world record to this day. From a young age, Haaland was active in sports and was even called up to Norway’s national handball team during his teenage years. He gained international attention in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup by scoring 9 goals single-handedly against Honduras.
