United States and Iran Reach Agreement on Several Issues

May 24, Kathmandu – Reports have emerged that the United States and Iran have reached an agreement on several key issues. According to BBC Persian Service, Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that some consensus has been achieved with the United States.

However, he did not provide clear information regarding the possibility of an immediate signing of any formal agreement.

Earlier on Sunday, Iranian state media reported that only one or two issues remained contentious between the two nations.

Baghaei pointed to delays in reaching agreement, attributing them to contradictory perspectives among U.S. officials and a history of American attacks during negotiation processes.

Prior to this, on Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio, who was visiting India, indicated the possibility of reaching an understanding to end the conflict with Iran on that same day.

Speaking to journalists in New Delhi, Secretary Rubio stated, ‘We are still working on that. As I mentioned before, we thought there might be some news last night, but now it’s expected today.’

He also mentioned that the United States has presented a strong proposal, which includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and initiating nuclear-related talks within a specified timeframe.
