Iran Announces Suspension of Indirect Talks with the United States

June 1, Kathmandu – Iran has announced the suspension of indirect talks with the United States mediated through intermediaries. This news was reported by the BBC, citing Iranian government news agencies. Iran claimed that Lebanon, a party to the ceasefire agreement, along with other fronts, has violated the ceasefire. For this reason, Iran has decided to halt the indirect talks.

Iran stated that Israeli attacks in Lebanon and Gaza must cease immediately and that no negotiations will take place until all occupied areas in Lebanon are fully evacuated. According to news agencies close to Iran’s military and security institutions, the Resistance Front and Iran plan to adopt a new strategy aimed at fully closing the Strait of Hormuz and activating other fronts, including the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Recently, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other officials emphasized the urgency of halting the ongoing Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
