Over NPR 208 Crore Worth Projects Approved for Koshi Province
June 25, Biratnagar – The Koshi Province Investment Authority has approved investments for four projects within the province. During its 33rd meeting held a few days ago, the authority endorsed a total investment of NPR 208.53 crore under the Public-Private Partnership model. These projects were finalized based on feasibility studies from proposals presented a year ago at the Koshi Province Investment Conference, as shared by the authority’s Executive Director Saroj Koirala during a press conference on Thursday.
According to him, a modern waste management project with a budget of NPR 55.95 crore will be developed in Duhabi-4, Sunsari district. Revive Infratech and Investment has been awarded responsibility for this project. Additionally, a multi-chamber and cold storage facility is planned for Duhabi-4 and 10 with an investment of NPR 34 crore, to be constructed by Dirghayu Agro and Investment.
In Udaypur’s Belka-9 area, Ramapur Multipurpose Agricultural Farm has received approval to operate a project involving waste management, a fertilizer factory, and animal husbandry with an investment of NPR 20 crore. For the tourism development and operation of the Ras Tal region in Ramdhuni-7, Sunsari, Urban Explorer Pvt. Ltd. has been granted permission to invest NPR 98.58 crore.
The authority has also initiated the process for constructing a pod-way from Rani to the bus park area in Biratnagar. Kathmandu Podway Company has been authorized to prepare a detailed project report for this initiative, which carries an estimated cost of around NPR 600 crore. The Koshi Province Investment Authority was established six years ago and has overseen projects including the operational Vedetar Skywalk built through its initiatives.
