Death Toll Rises to 920 in Devastating Earthquake in Venezuela

June 27, Kathmandu – The death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela has now reached 920. The earthquake also injured 3,360 people. On Wednesday, two powerful earthquakes occurred within seconds of each other in Venezuela. The second earthquake measured a magnitude of 7.5, making it one of the strongest earthquakes to hit Venezuela in the last century.

According to officials, the La Guaira area, located north of the capital, has been the most severely affected region. This area is home to one of the country’s two main ports. It also hosts Venezuela’s principal airport, Simón Bolívar International Airport, situated in the Maiquetía region. Many people remain missing after the earthquake. Rescue operations are ongoing, and the number of fatalities may increase as efforts continue.
