March 22, Kathmandu – JJ Smith will lead Namibia as captain in the upcoming ODI series against Oman and Scotland as part of the ICC World Cricket League 2.

Regular captain Gerhard Erasmus has taken a break from captaincy, resulting in Smith’s appointment as captain. In a video announcement, both Smith and Erasmus introduced the squad, with Erasmus officially handing the captaincy role to Smith.

After his recent visit to Nepal, Smith played for Lumbini Lions in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) last season, helping them secure the title.

Namibia Cricket has described the squad as a blend of seasoned veterans and young talent. The team includes new players William Lottering and Jacio Jensen van Vuuren.

Due to Erasmus taking a rest, JJ Smith will captain the team throughout this series.
