State-of-the-Art Event Venue ‘Ramalaya’ Opens in Basbari, Kathmandu
Kathmandu – A new sophisticated event venue named ‘Ramalaya’ has been inaugurated near Narayan Gopal Chowk, situated on Dhapasi Road in Basbari, Kathmandu. The venue boasts state-of-the-art facilities, attractive design, and a multi-purpose structure.
Designed to host a wide array of events ranging from corporate gatherings to weddings, cultural ceremonies, concerts, and international conferences, Ramalaya aims to introduce a fresh concept to Nepal’s event industry.
Modern Architecture Blended with Natural Greenery
Spanning approximately 33,000 square feet, Ramalaya harmoniously integrates modern architectural elements with lush natural surroundings. Despite being located in a busy urban area, the venue’s design offers a serene, open, resort-like atmosphere upon entry.
Key features include an LED ceiling system, intelligent and hydraulic lighting, professional-grade sound systems, automated mood-setting zones, and captivating interior design. The management believes these amenities will ensure memorable and engaging events.
Adjustable Stage Size for Versatile Use
The main hall extends over roughly 8,000 square feet with an outdoor area of 9,000 square feet. The stage size can be adjusted according to event requirements to either expand or reduce its area.
Additional facilities such as a high-end bar, disability-friendly access, changing rooms, and ample parking make event management seamless and convenient.
One of Ramalaya’s distinctive features is a design that allows vehicles to be brought directly onto the stage.
According to the venue’s operator, Khusbu Ojha, the facility is equipped to accommodate four-wheeled vehicles, motorcycles, and other light vehicles on stage for product launches. She noted that very few venues in Nepal offer such capabilities.
Having previously managed event spaces like Rambagh Mahal and Utsav Kunj, Ojha recognized the lack of suitable venues for hosting international-level corporate events in Nepal, prompting the launch of Ramalaya.
Safety Takes Top Priority
Ojha mentioned that Ramalaya incorporates technologies and infrastructure features that are not found in Nepal’s five-star hotel banquet halls. Consequently, the venue is suitable for a broad spectrum of events, including conferences, seminars, fashion shows, beauty pageants, concerts, movie premieres, educational programs, and auspicious ceremonies.
Ramalaya prioritizes security by providing not only a main entrance but also a rear access point for smooth movement. In emergencies, its design facilitates the safe evacuation of guests within 30 seconds to one minute, explains the operator.
Concept and Construction by RG Creations
The concept, design, and construction of Ramalaya were undertaken by RG Creations. Their expertise and innovative design approach have set new standards in event venue construction, successfully giving Ramalaya a distinctive identity.
With a focus on destination weddings, the venue is expected to attract wedding organizers from neighboring countries, including India.
With the capacity to host events with up to approximately 2,000 attendees simultaneously, Ramalaya currently welcomes 10-15 visitors daily for tours. The operators report that most visitors proceed to book the venue after assessing its amenities and design.
